Step by Step.
I had a pretty good day yesterday. Exercise wise, I went for a good hike. My calfs are still killing me. I'm trying to find ways to incorporate even a small amount of exercise into every day.
Getting into eating better is harder for me, but I'm trying. Last night I didn't eat so well, but I know that doesn't mean I have to do bad today. I'm telling myself to do it little by little and not become obsessed with it.

I hate exercising.
Thinking about going to the gym and lifting weights or spending forty five minutes on an elliptical five times a week has me looking for a deal on sweatpants at Walmart. It's boring and monotonous. I haven't been to the gym in about four months. That's not to say that I hate the gym. Sometimes I really enjoy the elliptical machine. It's so mindless that you don't have to think about it. I used to spend the forty five minutes listening to my ipod and people watching.* But I got bored. After awhile the really cute guy at the gym doesn't seem so cute after watching him check himself out in the mirror every other second. That's not cute. I get really annoyed with the people who go the gym go tanning and leave. Why? Why do you even have a membership? It's stupid? And truthfully after a while it sinks in that if I'm swinging my legs around staring at other people while listening to Rihanna and Disturbed, there are probably other people doing the staring to. My lady lumps and bumps aren't so lovely right now. You aren't supposed to start staring until I've sweated it out and slimmed down for four or five months. Wait till I start looking lovely again.
Not to mention how awkward some of the machines are. There was this one, for your thighs...where you sat and they had these bars with pads resting against your outer thighs... you had to spread your legs to raise the weights and work the machine. I only used that machine once and I'm pretty sure every time a guy walked by I turned bright red.
You can probably understand now why going to the gym might be a little bit off putting to me. (A LOT off putting actually.) And you can guess how this could cause quite a problem.
You can't lose weight if you don't exercise. And I really need to lose weight. Not just because I want to look hot, but because being overweight is bad for you. I'm working on the whole quitting smoking things (6 days so far!) and so I think it's time to start working on the weight issue too.
What do you do instead of typical exercise? I'll go out for walks a couple times a week with a friend. Sometimes I dance around (in the privacy of my own home thank you.) We have a pool, so I suppose I could go swimming if I ever dare to put on a swimsuit. So how do you sneak exercise into your day? I can use any suggestions you have!
*I know I'm not the only one out there who people watches. People can be pretty fascinating.

Huh?
Over winter time, I think I gained an additional five or so pounds on top of what I already needed to lose. I have not had an easy time trying to lose weight. Except all of a sudden it seems like the weight is just coming off. I'm really not doing a lot different, but apparentlly it's just enough.

Yeah. It's been a few.
Today is the first day in a while I've really stuck stuck to any sort of diet.
Amazingly I've lost four pounds. Or my scale is just messing with me.
More later, but I just wanted to put it out there that I didn't forget about this thing.
